Over the years, I’ve been called many things: DJ, emcee, producer, educator, consultant, and sometimes even consigliere.

Who you’re working with.

Cory Barron

For me, this business has always been about people in one form or another. I started DJing at a roller-skating rink while in high school. What began as a way to share music quickly became a fascination with how music influences emotion, energy, and connection.

Over the years, that passion led me through college towns, nightlife, private events, radio, weddings, corporate productions, destination celebrations, and thousands of unforgettable moments on dance floors across Florida and beyond.

Along the way, I discovered something important: The music is only part of the job.

The moments people remember most are often shaped by everything happening around the music. The timing of an introduction. The confidence of an emcee. The calm voice during an unexpected challenge. The collaboration between planners, venues, and creative partners. The countless details that guests never see but somehow always feel.

Over the years, I’ve been called many things: DJ, emcee, producer, educator, consultant, and sometimes even consigliere. While the titles may change, the role remains the same: helping clients, planners, and creative partners navigate the details that turn great events into unforgettable ones.

After more than two decades and over 2,000 celebrations, I’ve learned that great events don’t happen because everything goes perfectly. They happen because the right people are prepared for anything.

Experience has taught me how to anticipate challenges before they become problems, adapt when plans change, and help create an environment where clients, planners, and guests can simply enjoy the moment. Whether it’s navigating a timeline adjustment, coordinating with a creative team, or helping solve an unexpected issue behind the scenes, preparation has always been at the heart of my approach.

Today, I continue to perform throughout Florida and around the world while also leading several event-focused companies, including Tampa Bay DJ Company, Lumen Crafted, Tampa Bay A/V, and Tampa Bay Photobooth.

Each company serves a different purpose, but they all share the same foundation: professionalism, preparation, and a commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences.

When I’m not at an event, you’ll usually find me spending time with my wife Amy, our son Brooks, and our three gold retrievers. Becoming a husband and father has given me an even greater appreciation for the moments that bring people together. Perhaps that’s one reason weddings, celebrations, and milestone events continue to resonate with me after all these years. At their core, they’re about family, friendships, and creating memories that last long after the event itself.

It’s a reminder that while music matters, bringing people together matters more.
